A Soothie Smoothie

So what does one do when your little one is teething and doesn’t have an appetite?

Well our go to is a smoothie consisting of mixed fruit, whole milk, fat free Greek yogurt, flax seed, chia seed and peanut butter (exclude peanut butter if you or your little one has a peanut allergy.)

We throw all of these ingredients in our Vitamix 3500 Ascent, but any blender will do. We like the Vitamix for this since it has a smoothie function that makes a perfectly creamy smoothie every time.

With that said, here is the recipe.

1 cup of mixed fruit
1.5 cups of whole milk
3 tablespoons of low-fat Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon of peanut butter (can be left out for those with peanut allergies)
1 teaspoon of chia seed
1 teaspoon of flax seed

Add all the ingredients in your Vitamix or blender of choice. On the Vitamix 3500 Ascent simply select the smoothie button and hit start. On any other blender, start at a low speed for about 10 to 15 seconds then crank up the speed for another 30 to 45 seconds.

Once done pour it in your child’s favorite cup and watch them go. Our girl loves her Munchkin Straw Cup for those who are looking for a cup that is easy for your little one to hold and drink from. Feel free to pour some for yourself. We think you will like it.
